Dawners at the Greyhound Resort

We were gone for a day in December but on facebook we still got to see her. She’s asleep with the dog known as Tripod because she’s only got three legs. The greyhound resort is awesome and not just because they sent us some of Dawn’s new favorite treats.

Freezing Rain

Coming home from work late in the freezing rain. That was fun. So were my two pump orientation shifts…11-11, taking back some open-heart kids. I’m glad I survived. (and so did they!)

H’s Baby Shower

Lucky for Heather and the planners (Me, Karen, and Kristi) her doctor allowed the bed rested mama to go to her shower. We had a great turn out and it went really well. We had some food from Fresh Market as well as a veggie plate by Kristi and cupcakes by me. Blue velvet cupcakes for boys! We also had a candy bar for favors by Kristi which was a great idea. Everyone just chooses which ones they want and puts them in a little bag/box. There was table decorating and hosting by Karen. I also made a fabric banner that says, twice as nice. Which I have on good authority is now hanging on Heather and Neil’s fireplace at home.

I knitted a couple blankets for the boys pictured above. I can’t wait to be an aunt! Everything is going well and they’ll be here before we know it. Good thing my job has given me a lot of practice changing diapers because I think I’m going to need it.

Cool Trophy

If I was going to win a race I would want this to be my trophy. (At the Hall of Fame Museum)

30th Birthday Party

I couldn’t let him get away with no party so small party it is.

Jean, Chris, Mark, Colleen and David came over for some good beer, football, music, Magic, snack food, fun time. We also had a little dinner break at Twenty Tap. It’s so nice to have everyone together. I totally love these guys!

Brent’s 30th Birthday!

Birdy, Herdy, look who’s Thirty! Isn’t that the proper saying?

What does B want to do for his birthday? Go to the Indy 500 museum (Hall of Fame Museum) so off we go. There are a lot of race winners there and it’s cool to see the transformation from the 10s-20s to now. Plus lots of beautiful Millers which the Castle family likes just a little bit.
Here’s B with some winners…

Me with a Miller.

And a car that tried to get in to the race but was too heavy so they drilled a lot of holes in and it was still too heavy. Sad.

Insert a quick stop to Twenty Tap. Yum.

Put icing on my 4 layer carrot cake. Venture down to the Perdues and pick up some City Barbeque on the way.

Receive signed Bugatti book from parents…

Happy Birthday, B!

Indy Auto Show

Thanks to Groupon we were able to go to this puppy for $1…that seems worth it. I’ve never been to one of these things so it was kinda cool seeing a whole bunch of new cars by all different auto makers. I like sitting in new cars. Maybe some day…

So I kinda love those little Fiats. But then you need your Range Rover to help you actually get stuff and people around when needed. Given the prices of the two, the Range Rover can probably buy the Fiat for breakfast.

Here was a cool find…The Transformers car featuring some logos and yellow Bumblebee-ness. Love it!

Oh and the top of the line Corvette…who do you think wants that for Christmas?

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (English Version)

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo with Daniel Craig and Mara Rooney has finally arrived. So exciting…with soundtrack by Trent Reznor. Amazing combination. One thing that I found kinda strange but still really liked was the intro sequence. It seemed like a NIN music video with a Led Zeppelin remake song. It was like watching the beginning of a James Bond movie.

I read the book a few years ago then saw the Swedish version about a year ago and now seeing this movie I can’t remember what is missing and which is more like the book. I think both movies did better in different areas. I really enjoyed the ending of this one. If I remember correctly it seemed more like the book and I think evoked the feeling of relationship expectation and loss really well.

Daniel Craig was good but seemed to be lacking a little for believing him as the character. Mara Rooney did a great job…it has to be quite difficult playing that kind of character. I am really interested to see how they do in the second movie because they may really develop in to those characters after having played them once.

If you’ve read the books you’ll really enjoy it and if not you may enjoy it just as much.

3/4 Stars
